The Bootheel Youth Museum proudly welcomed Missouri State Representative Jo Ann Emerson on Tuesday, August 12, 2008 as a special guest and inductor of ten new members into AmeriCorps. Representative Emerson arrived at 9:45 a.m. for the event and welcomed questions from members and guests. AmeriCorps, recently offered through the BYM in partnership with Lincoln University, is a national service program that allows people of all ages and backgrounds to earn help for educational expenses in exchange for an allotted period of service. The new inductees are Danielle Cooper, Devin Busby, Susan Forshee, Betty Jo Hux, Clifton Hux, Shanna Ludwig, Mary Martin, Dwantica Moncrief, Tammy Morgan and Quinton Tillman.
